Can't get Rid of Me that Easy!

I'm here. I'm just getting ready for finals. I might be able to post on the weekend, but if not, definitely next Friday. I also want to thank everyone for their words of encouragement. That means more than you'll ever know.

Courage

Have you ever had one of those days where you just question everything? That's where I'm at right now. I'm not sure exactly what I want to do, and I know everything will fall into place. I'm just not satisfied with things right now. I've got that feeling of uneasiness and longing for things to be different. I long for the day when I can sit at school for more than a couple of classes. For most people, it's the opposite. They want to take the least amount of hours as possible. Not me. When you've had your whole "plan" turned upside down because of things beyond your control, the fear of the unknown rears its ugly head again. Just because I fear something, doesn't mean I should let it stop me. I have to find a way (and I will) to overcome it. Typing or saying those words is easy but doing it is a whole other story. I have to reach down deep inside of me to find that courage once again. That courage that doesn't let obstacles dictate its futur

School, School, and More School

I wanted to give everyone an update on the team teaching assignment that I talked about a few posts back. My teacher decided that since there's only three group members, we only have to teach for 30 min. instead of 40 min. She wants the group with more people to have a little bit more time. Score! She also said we have a week (now it's a couple of days since she said that) to prepare. I think my group let out a sigh of relief on that one. We got lots done on Thursday. We assigned tasks to everyone, came up with a "game" to illustrate our points, and figured out the main points we wanted to get across with our lesson. Right now, I'm polishing up an outline for a research paper. It's my last major project before finals. I'm not completely satisfied with it, but are we ever?

Spreading the Love

I just found out about Swag Bucks from another great blogger, Trina. Swag Bucks is a site where you earn bucks to spend in their store anytime you shop, or invite your friends. They even have coupons for various stores at different times, so check back often. For every 5 bucks you spend on iTunes, you get one swag buck. Who doesn't love iTunes. You get bucks for shopping at places like Macy's too. This is especially great if you shop on the Internet a lot. Just click here to join in the fun!

I'm in the Home Stretch

School is winding down. I'm a little stressed because I just found out my group has one week to put together a 40 minute team teaching lesson for a class. I don't think it will be a problem, but everyone has to do research. I'm going to talk to her tomorrow about some things that have been going on. It's been a trying week for me physically. Spring break was a great time to rest. I'm just taking it one day at a time. I know that this semester is almost over, so I'm keeping this at the forefront of my mind. God never fails to give me the grace that I need to get through each day. Just when I think I can't sit up for another minute, let alone another hour, God lets me know that He hasn't went anywhere. I'm going to take a break from the craziness of it all and watch what unfolds on American Idol tonight, how about you?

Full of Happiness

Image
Easter morning has finally arrived. Amidst the chocolate bunnies, egg hunts, and family dinners lies the real reason for the celebration. Jesus has risen! Even though my morning started off less than stellar, I've got a reason to rejoice this morning. My Lord and Savior endured agony just so I could be saved. I'm sure you've all heard the Easter story at some point in your life, so I won't go into all the details. He proved everyone wrong when He rose from the grave. Those guards thought they were successful in killing Jesus Christ. WRONG. The tomb is a symbol of God leaving this world and going to Heaven to reign. What so you like most about Easter? What's one thing that you're thankful for? I know you can think of at least one. Photo credit: Pimp My Space (link no longer works)

The Fan Award

I got the fan award from the fabulous Miranda over at A Duck in her Pond . If you haven't checked her out, you must! Her stories are riveting! The rules state: 1. Leave a comment or an email for your favorite blogger telling them that you are a fan of the site. 2. Feel free to snag the image code to either present to your blog friend or post on your site when it is awarded to you. 3. When you receive more than one fan, put the number of fans you have received under the image. 4. The more fans you receive the better! I'm a fan of these sites: Brent Riggs ~BK~ Tam's Dance *Sweet Cheeks & Sugar Lips* Footballs and Crowns...Life with the Browns There are many other sites that I love, but I can't list them all. :)

So much to say, so little Time

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. To my surprise, one of the nurse practitioners resigned. A kind woman with fiery red hair and a British accent told me that either my doctor would see me or "Susan"(Name has been changed to protect the innocent). As she was turning to leave she said, "Susan's" got a fire to her, I think you'll like her" I thought, " Hmm , I don't know why she would have resigned." I was thinking, what will this new woman be like? Nice or demanding? Old or young?" I was almost finished with my visit when "Susan" came into the room to introduce herself. Right away, she seemed warm and personable. One of the student anesthesiologists peeked his head into the room to ask me about a particular dose of one of my medications. Susan immediately began telling stories about patients she had met. She said, "I was making my rounds trying to meet all of my new patients. I asked one patient what medicines

Prayers for a Friend

One of my friends died this morning. She tried to commit suicide a few years ago over a boy, but it didn't kill her. She's had lots of health issues since then. She was all twisted. She couldn't talk, just moan when she hurt. Her mom was committed to taking care of her, so much so that she quit her job when everything happened. She also has a little brother. Please keep this family in your prayers. It's going to require a big adjustment for them to get used to her not being there.

Spring Break....Uninterrupted Rest

I'm officially on Spring break! My plans are to rest and watch a little TV. I hardly ever watch TV because I don't have the time. I even took it out of my room for a while because I didn't watch it. Unfortunately, the TV became a welcome distraction while I was recovering from a surgery. I haven't had the best morning. I woke up in a lot of pain, but I took my medicine. That helped take the edge off. It's nothing a beautiful Spring day can't cure! What do you like to do on your day(s) off?
