Still Going Strong

Well, another week has come and gone.  If you're a fan of my facebook page, you will know that I have been extremely busy with school.  I'm so glad it's the weekend because I haven't felt the best.  Even this morning, I could have easily stayed home from school because I was feeling nauseous.  I went on anyway because I know that each hour I'm there means I'm one step closer to graduating. I also know I can't learn anything at home. 

I'm still recuperating from the costume party because I was up pretty much ALL day, including school for several hours. But, I'm moving along.  I can't stay down long.  I guess I'm just writing to get this out.  I have been kind of down. 

After spending time in  prayer and worship tonight in my room, I feel a lot better.  I didn't even have any music. It was just me telling Jesus how much I love Him and how thankful I am He has never deserted me even when I am snappy and tired.  There's nothing like the presence of Jesus.  He is my rock.

Memories Rewind: Laughing in the Night

We had just moved into our new house. The crickets were chirping as people were getting ready to relax for the night. "Wanna throw the baseball around with me, Madison?" my brother asked. He didn't have to ask me twice. I jumped up off the couch and headed outside. Eli was good about throwing it easy. He stood close to me, letting me catch the ball with ease. The muggy air was making me sweaty as I concentrated on catching the ball in his worn glove. We were talking about school when I forgot a ball was headed in my direction. Freewriting - Day 1: Emotions

In an effort to blog more, I am going to freewrite a little bit each day. Freewriting is when you just write for a short period of time, not worrying about punctuation or grammar. I will be mindful of those things, though because I know it helps everyone understand better. In freewriting, you don't have to stay on one topic. This is just what popped into my mind a few minutes ago. I haven't purposefully done this in awhile, so here it goes!! Emotions They twirl around. They bubble up. Sometimes they burst. Sometimes I wish I wouldn't have said something the way I said it. I can't take it back. I can't press rewind. I want to be more mindful of my emotions. Instead of letting them splatter out and fall wherever, I want to be careful with my words. Words are weighty. Words matter.  Emotions are a good thing, but they can be unpredictable.
