Being an Effective Light

The red light pierced through the darkness. As I squinted in the dark, the rays beamed out on either side.

That seemingly minute light got brighter. This reminded me of the people I see on the street.  Before we get born again, we are a lost soul in a world filled with darkness. The chaos and unsettling in our soul is evident with every step. Every day is just something to get through. No hope. No. joy. No peace in our life.

When we make the decision to have the Lord rule over our lives, that dull light became something greater than imagined. How? The Holy Spirit came to dwell in us, teach us, and guide us through life! We begin to see a much bigger picture. It's no longer just about us anymore.  The Body of Christ encircles this person because we are all family. We work together to bring light to the people around us.  When our light isn't effective, we need to surround ourselves with people who are. Sooner or later, the fire than burns from deep within them will burn in us.

Are we impacting those around us in a positive way? I don't know about you, but recently, one of my goals is to become even more focused on God. It's so easy to get weighed down by the cares of this life. I am examining my life and asking God to show me the weak areas. Those areas that may not have His light shining on them at all. Help me, God, to be a more effective light for you.
