What a Difference a Year Makes!

Finals are over and I'm off for a month!  I've learned a lot this semester.  In my creative writing class, my final project was the beginning of a novel.  I turned in 33 pages, and I'm quite proud of myself because this is the longest work on one subject that I've ever done!  I plan to continue working on it.  One thing people may not realize is it takes a lot of time and patience to to tell a story in right way.In other words, not rushing from point to point, but really taking your time to develop the characters and setting.

I've been sick. Instead of focusing on the negative, I want to write a list of things that I can do now that I couldn't do a year ago.
  1.  I helped my mom decorate the Christmas tree this year
  2.  I was able to attend college classes from 8 to 2 on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays
  3.  I started helping on my church's publication team, which meets weekly
  4.  As of Saturday, I am now able to transfer myself for my wheelchair to the recliner with no help 
  5. I can pick up my baby cousin without hurting my back
  6.  I can put on my stretchy pants on with no help (Blue jeans still require help, but I will master that eventually)
  7. I can pop a wheelie in my wheelchair
  8. I learned how to use Adobe Illustrator
  9. I designed a logo using Adobe Illustrator
  10.  I'm able to sit up more, which is why so many things on this list are possible
  11. As an extra special surprise, I'm coming back to church on Wednesday nights starting TONIGHT!  I have not been able to go church on Wednesday nights in several years because of my pain.  All praise goes to God for His neverending grace!!
I'm not where I want to be, but I'm not where I was!  I wanted to write these things down so I won't forget how far I've come.

Memories Rewind: Playhouse Parties

 Something's up with the spacing today. I was over a C's house for a sleepover filled with laughs, mischief, and games. We still had a few daylight hours to burn, and we just couldn't waste away a beautiful day in the house. " Whatcha wanna do?" C asked. I spotted the bright pink doll house out of the corner of my eye. Let's play house! We arranged the miniature table and chairs just so. Advocating for Another: Inside the Fishbowl

Since I talked about my community and some things that make me and my readers unique yesterday, I thought I would branch out and do one of the bonus prompts, which says to tell what my life is like to someone looking on the outside then describe it from the inside. On the outside, I look like a stylish young woman busy attending college classes and helping out at my church all while in a wheelchair. Some people have mistakenly thought I have an easy life because I have people helping me do things, get a little extra time to do tasks, and so on. From the inside, they would see a slightly different picture. My hair looks so good because my mom helps me dry it and style it. I have a beside commode because I'm not quite strong enough --yet--  to walk to the bathroom and sit down without help.
