A not so popular Post

This won't be a popular post for everyone, and that's okay. You don't have to agree with me. This is just my opinion.

I don't know why people cuss, but I've come up with a few explanations.



  • Is it because they want to fit in with other people(specifically when they're in high school)?

  • Do they want attention?

  • Is it for the shock value of spewing a bunch of expletives?

I don't know the answer, but I have never cared for it because I had to grow up around it. A friend of mine asked why people cussed, and I responded quite differently than everyone else.


I said people who cuss show they have a limited vocabulary. Think about it. If you can only respond to people's statements with 5 or 6 words, you have a limited vocabulary. In my opinion, people who cuss every other breath are not good communicators. I say this because to communicate, you have to be able to explain your thoughts in a way that everyone can understand. Adding in expletives after every other word is not going to make your thoughts any clearer. If it sounds dumb without cuss words, just imagine how foolish you look when your statement is filled with cuss words. This has just been something that has been on my mind. I just think people can do better.

I think you're absolutely right for most people whose every other word is a cuss word. Comes down to environment and acceptable ways of communicating within those environments. Of course, when out of those particular environments those words are hard to hear and stand out as excessive.

For others, I think those words are just a part of a person's expressions/story telling/etc, to be picked up and put down whenever moved to do so, most often by emotions or passion, and again by environment. Example: One might have a certain kind of speech when interacting with peers, and then another when interacting with business associates. Kind of the same thing. Things begin to become a problem when people lack the ability to discern when and where they should use each set of speech, lol.

Memories Rewind: Playhouse Parties

 Something's up with the spacing today. I was over a C's house for a sleepover filled with laughs, mischief, and games. We still had a few daylight hours to burn, and we just couldn't waste away a beautiful day in the house. " Whatcha wanna do?" C asked. Advocating for Another: Inside the Fishbowl

Since I talked about my community and some things that make me and my readers unique yesterday, I thought I would branch out and do one of the bonus prompts, which says to tell what my life is like to someone looking on the outside then describe it from the inside. On the outside, I look like a stylish young woman busy attending college classes and helping out at my church all while in a wheelchair. Some people have mistakenly thought I have an easy life because I have people helping me do things, get a little extra time to do tasks, and so on. From the inside, they would see a slightly different picture. My hair looks so good because my mom helps me dry it and style it. I have a beside commode because I'm not quite strong enough --yet--  to walk to the bathroom and sit down without help.
