I was recently asked to share my story on a website about cerebral palsy. You can read it here . I added a few details about what it was like growing up with CP. I was very thankful for the opportunity to share my story with many others. Even though most of those people will probably never read my blog, just knowing that I was able to give someone a glimmer of hope makes my heart full. I've always believed that you should share what you have with others. I guess this is kind of what Jesus felt like when he shared the Good News with people on Earth. I just try to add a little sunshine to this world. This is kind of unrelated, but if you want, you can "like" my Facebook page for the blog. You can find it on my left sidebar. If you have any questions for me, comment on this post! My power cord unplugged from my computer the other night. It fell beside my bed, which can be a bit tricky for me to take care of. The power was slowly dwindling on the computer. I tried several times to reach the power cord with no success. My arm was sore and there was a possibility that I could fall off the bed and have to lay there while I waited for someone to come help me. But, I had work to do and I needed my computer. So…I heaved my body over the side of the bed and reached until I had that little black cord within my grasp. My adrenaline was pumping. After all that work, and a little bit of risk, I wasn't about to let go of that thing! How many times have we quit reaching for our dreams? We get stuck where we are, we can’t go forward, and there doesn’t seem to be anyone around to help. We get tired from making no progress, but the risk of action seems too great to take a chance. Hey, everyone! I'm still here. I just wanted to give an update on things. My life has been changed forever since my little nephew arrived. I can't wait until he gets a little bigger so he can play with us. Seeing him for the first time was a priceless moment. I can't understand how people abort their babies.... Anyway, I digress. Life is good. I've been spending some time snuggling this little guy and listening to him coo softly as he sleeps and kissing his little cheeks. I admit I'm a bit partial, but I don't think life could get any better! What have you been up to this week?

My mom kept a diary for my brother and me, so I wanted to document this day for my nephew. My sister in law is scheduled to be induced today. Even though she's not due until the 19th, she wanted to be induced. That means we will have a new little member to our family! Mason, I can hardly believe that it's time for you to be here. Nine months seemed to have passed by so quickly. I've been wondering who you'll look like, what kind of temperment you'll have, and so much more. I won't have to wait much longer! The anticipation is definitely building. I can't wait to watch you grow up and become your own person. I love to write, so I thought I would document my thoughts before you come into this great big world. I also want to give you a little advice. :) First and foremost, love with all of your heart. This book is not for the faint of heart. If you're looking for a book that is different from the cookie cutter books about Christianity, look no further. Erwin McManus challenges everyone to unleash the faith within. It's easier said than done. Will you answer the call? I was very excited to get this book because I knew it was different just by looking at the cover. We need different perspectives in today's society. While I don't agree with every statement in the book, I would recommend it to others. It definitely inspired me to live life with my eyes wide open and look for opportunities that others might pass by to exercise my faith. I really like that he included different people in the Bible who lived by faith unashamedly. I knew some of the people he mentioned, but others he included surprised me. Sometimes you write just for therapy. Today is one of those days. I found out last week that my physical therapist of seven years is leaving. I have mixed emotions about it for sure. He was my first male physical therapist and I didn't know how to feel about it. I was used to women. Over time, I began to realize he wasn't so bad. His encouragement on some rough days was a welcome relief from the pain. Now, instead of seeing him once a week, my mom will become my physical therapist. He has given me the tools to get better, so I know that we can do this together. I'm not stopping where I'm at right now. This is just a transition period. He has made a difference in my life, and my life is richer because he was in it. I told him that there are going to be people at his new job that need him to help them just like I did. The days of juggling school and physical therapy are over, but I will still have his friendship. That is worth more than any physical therapy appointment.

You've all met my adorable cousin Keller in previous posts. He just turned a year old this past Saturday! I can't believe how quickly time has passed. Now, he smiles when he sees you, and he's fluent in baby gibberish. :) He's in a contest sponsored by Parent magazine. If he wins, he'll be on the front cover! Well, my junior year of college is drawing to a close. Wow, that is just mind boggling to me! I thought I was not going to graduate in four years, but as of right now I'm on schedule. :) I have one more final tomorrow, and I'll be done for a little while. I'm doing two online classes this summer, so that will get me a few steps closer to graduation. This next year will be filled with last classes, senior project, and many other things. Lasts always bring firsts, though. I'll have my first job, first paycheck... I'm excited and a little nervous. Then, I'm reminded that God has been with me every step of my journey and will continue to be. When I think of it that way, I can smile knowing the best days are yet to come!
