Memories Rewind: Baby Keepsakes

This is the weekly Memories Rewind post on Thursday instead of Wednesday. Since I haven't been feeling my best and had lots of school work, this is the first chance I've gotten to post anything.

The other day, my mom and I were going through a chest filled with our baby things. She pulled out a shirt that she kept from when we were preemies. She said the shirt had to be handmade by someone because the stores didn't have any clothes small enough to fit us. It was so hard to imagine myself that little, but my mom was taken back to that time instantly with each thing she pulled out of the chest.



"Eli would pull his oxygen tubes out of his nose" she said with a laugh.

Tucked in a box with our baby scrapbook was a tiny white diaper that Mama kept as a reminder of just how little we were. Average size diapers seem so huge in comparison to the teeny tiny preemie ones!


It seems like such a long time ago, but in fact it's just the opposite. Life passes by so quickly, if we blink, we will miss something.

The little preemie shirt is so sweet! I understand why your mother saved those things. You are right. Life passes quickly. We need to make the most of our days.

I remember when the nurse told me that I would forget all this as time went by. Well its been over 20 yrs and I still haven't forgotten what God did and never will. Just because people tell you things it doesn't mean you have to believe it.

Advocating for Another: Inside the Fishbowl

Since I talked about my community and some things that make me and my readers unique yesterday, I thought I would branch out and do one of the bonus prompts, which says to tell what my life is like to someone looking on the outside then describe it from the inside. On the outside, I look like a stylish young woman busy attending college classes and helping out at my church all while in a wheelchair. Some people have mistakenly thought I have an easy life because I have people helping me do things, get a little extra time to do tasks, and so on. Memories Rewind: Playhouse Parties

 Something's up with the spacing today. I was over a C's house for a sleepover filled with laughs, mischief, and games. We still had a few daylight hours to burn, and we just couldn't waste away a beautiful day in the house. " Whatcha wanna do?" C asked. I spotted the bright pink doll house out of the corner of my eye. Let's play house! We arranged the miniature table and chairs just so. The table cloth was laid aside because this was a casual affair. Mr. Teddy and all of C's dollies were anticipating the fabulous feast put on by the two princesses. "What shall we make?" we pondered. It had to be special. Mud pies were a favorite of the furry forest animals. I scooped up mounds of mud as C poured the water in.
