Love 'Em Anyway

Relationships are two-sided. They bring great joy and also stretch you beyond your comfort zone.

It seems like every time I get close to someone, they leave. That hurts! I'm having a very hard time dealing with this current season in my life. I know that relationships are vital to my growth as person, but they are not easy. They take committment. You make yourself vulnerable.

That song by Martina McBride called "Anyway" comes to mind.

You can love someone with all your heart
For all the right reasons
In a moment they can choose to walk away
Love 'em anyway

That's what I'm going to do. As hard as it is to let them go, I have no choice. I do have a choice how I react to it, though. I choose to love people anyway.

I will not let this make me bitter. I will not close myself off to a relationship with this person. I wish them nothing but the best in life. They were a vital part in my life--for a season--and I don't regret one moment of it. They supported me. They believed in me. They were someone I could confide in.

It will be an adjustment, but I will get through it. It's a fact of life that some people are in your life for awhile and others are there for a lifetime. My heart will always have love for this person no matter what. The relationship just won't be the same as it once was.

God, help me to always be open. Help me to not allow my past hurts hinder me. Rather let my past hurts serve as a reminder of Your grace that I can make it with your help. I know that you will never leave or forsake me, so help me as I transition.

Advocating for Another: Inside the Fishbowl

Since I talked about my community and some things that make me and my readers unique yesterday, I thought I would branch out and do one of the bonus prompts, which says to tell what my life is like to someone looking on the outside then describe it from the inside. On the outside, I look like a stylish young woman busy attending college classes and helping out at my church all while in a wheelchair. Some people have mistakenly thought I have an easy life because I have people helping me do things, get a little extra time to do tasks, and so on. I have a beside commode because I'm not quite strong enough --yet--  to walk to the bathroom and sit down without help. Memories Rewind: Playhouse Parties

 Something's up with the spacing today. I was over a C's house for a sleepover filled with laughs, mischief, and games. We still had a few daylight hours to burn, and we just couldn't waste away a beautiful day in the house. " Whatcha wanna do?" C asked. I spotted the bright pink doll house out of the corner of my eye. Let's play house! We arranged the miniature table and chairs just so. The table cloth was laid aside because this was a casual affair. Mr. Teddy and all of C's dollies were anticipating the fabulous feast put on by the two princesses. "What shall we make?" we pondered. It had to be special. Mud pies were a favorite of the furry forest animals. I scooped up mounds of mud as C poured the water in.
