Memories Rewind: My Favorite Place

Today's Memories Rewind is going to be a little different. I'm going to share a story of mine that got published in my middle school literary magazine Da Bone.

Everyone has a favorite place. I'm no different. When I think of my favorite place, a smile of warmth creeps across my face. My favorite place to be is in my room looking at the sunset.

I lay there in the evening looking out my window and marveling at the sight. The sky is like a big canvas painted with colors of depth and richness. The sun is like the center of a flower with sprinkles of the finest dust inside it. The colors around the sun accentuate the whole picture. The beauty of the sight makes you feel as if you could just jump right in it.

I know you may think that your room isn't a good place to view a beautiful picture, but just looking out of a window can open the door to the beginning of a wonderful imagination.

Keep in mind I was in sixth grade when I wrote this. I have learned a lot about writing since then. Name one your favorite places.

My favorite is out near the lake or ocean. Nothing like the stillness or the waves to refresh you.

Advocating for Another: Inside the Fishbowl

Since I talked about my community and some things that make me and my readers unique yesterday, I thought I would branch out and do one of the bonus prompts, which says to tell what my life is like to someone looking on the outside then describe it from the inside. On the outside, I look like a stylish young woman busy attending college classes and helping out at my church all while in a wheelchair. Some people have mistakenly thought I have an easy life because I have people helping me do things, get a little extra time to do tasks, and so on. Memories Rewind: Playhouse Parties

 Something's up with the spacing today. I was over a C's house for a sleepover filled with laughs, mischief, and games. We still had a few daylight hours to burn, and we just couldn't waste away a beautiful day in the house. " Whatcha wanna do?" C asked. I spotted the bright pink doll house out of the corner of my eye. Let's play house! We arranged the miniature table and chairs just so. The table cloth was laid aside because this was a casual affair. Mr. Teddy and all of C's dollies were anticipating the fabulous feast put on by the two princesses. "What shall we make?" we pondered. It had to be special. Mud pies were a favorite of the furry forest animals. I scooped up mounds of mud as C poured the water in.
